Recovery support

Steady support for the hardest early months

I work as a peer recovery coach and live-in companion, supporting people through the transition from treatment back into daily life. My focus is the part of recovery that's often left out: learning to rest, sleep and regulate without substances.

What recovery means

I work from SAMHSA's definition of recovery: a process of change through which people improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential.[1] SAMHSA describes four dimensions that support a life in recovery:

Recovery happens by many pathways, is person-driven, and is supported by peers.[1] My job is to support the path a person has chosen, not to impose mine.

What I do, and what I don't

I do

  • Offer consistent, non-judgmental presence
  • Help build daily structure and routines
  • Support sleep, rest and stress regulation
  • Connect people to meetings, services and community
  • Work alongside the clinical team, family and sponsor
  • Keep strict discretion and confidentiality

I don't

  • Diagnose or provide therapy
  • Manage medication or withdrawal
  • Replace clinical treatment
  • Push a single pathway to recovery

What I bring
